Copying toolpath from machine setups and their tool numbers

hello,

if I copy a toolpath from one machine setup to another, why is it renumbering the tools? I really don’t want it to change the tool numbers.

Check to see if the automatic tool number is turned on. I always have to uncheck the box, then my tool numbers appear.

that’s odd in that when i copy and paste a feature from one set up to another…but if you are pasting it to another program…it might make up it’s own tool exactly as the one that you copied…but that’s hit or miss now…also it will always default drilling depths to .500 no matter what…i’ve found that copy and paste with geometry also prevents that from happening but you can only do that within the same program i think

I have the same problem. I do a lot of copy-paste from past similar jobs to new ones. I’ve tried having the exact same tool crib and still tools will be renumbered or duplicated. It’s cumbersome but what I do is print out into PPT the desired tool crib and then renumber manually for the new job.
