Hello there. This is the first time we use Lathe on V35 and we’re experiencing some issues. For some reason it won’t recognize any profile line (for turning operations) that are not oriented either 0 or 90º. For pre heat treat ops we’re having to make everything perpendicular but don’t know how we’re gonna get around this when parts come for finishing.
This image shows the inclined line in dotted and the replaced horizontal one we had to use. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Without knowing your parameters or the size of this part/incline it’s hard to assist with accuracy. I will try to give some pointers that might get you going.
When you select a tapered line there are a few things that can cause the path to not get generated as expected.
1st thing to check. Stock Diameter. Make sure your stock is larger than where the line is. I cannot tell from your image how big your stock is. This is important if the Constraints option on the Feature page is set to From Stock. See below images:
2nd - Constraints - You can use the constraints to make the system look at the geometry or you can use the Custom option and tell the system the diameter above to start the path. See the help topic in the following link and look for the Constraints section on the page: Help Topic Link CLICK HERE
