I use what tool manufacture recommends. Then I make my tool library post out the right speeds and feeds for the material I am going to use. It takes to long to look the stuff up every time.
Eric, would you be interested, or do you think it would be worth anything to you if the software had a utility in it like gwizard or HSM Advisor built in so you could calculate your speeds and feeds better in the software?
Alex
Only if it was part of the tool crib. And it would post the right speeds and feeds for what you are doing. It just needs to be fast and right every time.
Shouldnât chip load be part of the Tool Library and not the Material Library? Iâm not going to use the same chip load for a 1" and a 1/64" tool. I just started using BobCAD/CAM coming from OneCNC, while their auto generated feeds and speeds werenât perfect they were much more realistic. I am working around this by creating my own tool library with cutters labeled for different material using my own F&Sâs.
