V30 tool_protusion_lenght does not return a value

I’m generating a new POST file (well trying to)

"tool_diameter ", tool_diamter, correctly returns the correct answer, in this case 6

but

"tool_protrusion_length ", tool_protrusion_length, returns nothing

Anyone any idea as to what’s wrong, these two commands are basically identical.

Hello Trevor,

The posting variable “tool_protrusion_length” was not added into the posting engine until build 3263 which put’s the support for that variable in the BobCAD-CAM V32 product version and later. If you are trying to use this in V30 software it will not work.

This brings up a good point about the current posting documentation in that it does not define “When” a variable has been made available. I will work with the team to implement a new moving forward policy of adding details for new variables and APIs to define what version and build they start working with.
